Heli-Hike on Mendenhall Glacier (1 of 2)


On the way to the airport we met this bear

 


Ok, this bear and his friend a moose

 

The glacier hikers all geared up -

crampons, helmet & harness, wool

gloves, windbreaker, and ice pick.

 

A glimpse of the ultimate blue.  Dark spots are rocks ground up to a find powder from glacial movement.

you can't even get  a perspective of just how  wide this glacier is...

"Spectacular colors, vast rivers of ice"
